Black Queens captain Mercy Myles says they were stunned when Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan announced a $30,000 prize package to them for winning gold at the 2015 All African Games women’s football competition.
Gyan redeemed his promise to the ladies by giving them that amount at his lavish mansion here in Accra during the celebration of his 30th birthday.
The Shangai SIPG striker had already donated 10,000 dollars to the team in Congo-Brazaville during the games and pledged that he was going to reward them if they win the competition
“We are very thankful that the first time this is happening, unprecedented so we are all overwhelmed and excited,” said Mercy Myles
“He promised us and assured us that when we are able to get there he was going to give us a bigger package and he has fulfilled that promise.
“We wish him good health, more blessings from God and the very best in all his undertakings.”
