Ghana are a day from a crucial qualifier in Egypt as Caf await the continent's reps for the 2016 Olympics.
The Black Queens are settled in the North African capital for the first leg of the second qualifying round that's slated for Saturday.
"Through hard work and determination, we were able to qualify for the All Africa Games against Zimbabwe," says Mercy Myles ahead of the encounter.
The 23-year old, who is now captaining the side due to injury to regular skipper Leticia Zikpi, has passed through all age groups of the national female setups and she's bullish about Ghana's quest to qualify for two major tournaments within weeks of each other.
"We want to qualify as well to the summer Olympics in 2016 and we are determined to begin that with a very good result against Egypt this weekend."
She is aware that getting one of the two available slots by the end of the qualifying campaign will not be child's play.
"We have been camping for some time now and with the [Ghana women’s] league in session, we feel much fitter and in form now than before," she said.
After this weekend's game, the Black Queens will hope to have their reliable forward, Samira Suleman - who is not available now due to a new deal she has secured in Iceland - for the May 29 return leg.
