Asamoah Gyan is hopeful his international team mate John Mensah can keep his cool when they meet Uruguay international Luis Suarez this weekend.
Mensah, Ghana captain at the 2010 World Cup had declared in the past that he will 'kick' Suarez when they meet after the Uruguay forward handled a goal bound shot in the quarter final clash that denied Ghana a place in the last four of the tournament.
Gyan and Mensah will come face to face with Suarez for the first time since that quarter-final night in Johannesburg on Sunday when Sunderland play Liverpool.
"It will just be another day and I will shake his hand because that is what good sportsmanship is about," Gyan told KickOffGhana.com. "A lot of players would have done the same thing so it is past and gone and we have moved on from that."
"John has moved on too and I don’t think he will do anything. We have to be good sportsmen and think of our team's fortunes first."
