Asante Kotoko have ended the first round of the 2014/2015 season on a strong note as they brushed aside Heart of Lions with an emphatic 4-0 in their match played at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday.
Striker Ahmed Toure opened the scoring for the reigning Champions with a 20th minute penalty kick before Prince baffoe added the second as the second half ended 2-0.
The home side returned to the second half with more goals on their mind as substitute Latif Amadu and Emmanuel Asante scored the third and fourth goal of the day to give Kotoko their biggest win over their Kpando-based opponents.
The win in the Match day 15 game has given the Porcupine Warriors their 5th win of the season and has also moved all to fifth on the League log.
For Lions, the defeat on the final day of the first round has seen them slip 11th on the League table.
In another League match played at the Sogakope Park, WAFA and Wa All Stars settled for a 0-0 scoreline in their last matches before the season takes a brief break.
WAFA however have moved second of the League table with a better goal advantage than Aduana who are also on 25 points.
All Stars on the other hand are now 8th on the League table.
