A circuit court in Cape Coast, on Wednesday remanded Kwesi Abbam, a 30-year-old unemployed man, for allegedly stealing three goats and attempting to commit suicide.
The suspect pleaded not guilty and would reappear at court on Wednesday February 20, 2008.
Chief Inspector Augustine Amonoo told the court presided over by Mr Richard Asiedu-Badu that Abbam, who resided at Aboom a suburb of the township, on January 15, 2008, at about 0430 hours sent a box to the Abakrampa lorry station.

Chief Inspector Amonoo told the court that after waiting for sometime, the porter and his colleagues opened the box and found strangled goats concealed in sacks.
Prosecution said the next day when the porter spotted Abbam in Cape Coast carrying a sack and the alarm was raised, he took to his heels but was he was arrested.
Chief Inspector Amonoo said when the sack was opened another strangled goat was found and the suspect was sent to the police.
Chief Inspector Amonoo said on January 23, 2008 at 0533 hours police on duty at the police station heard an unusual noise from the cells and when it was opened, Abbam was found hanging from the Ceiling with blanket tied to his neck.
