A circuit court at Hohoe remanded Kwaku Ademekpor, farmer from Hohoe-Gboxome for possessing five parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp.
Ademekpor, who pleaded guilty to possessing the dried leaves, will re-appear on November 30, this year.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Douglas Kumah told the Court presided over by Mr Samuel Sarpong-Appiah that Ademekpor was arrested with the dried leaves at the Golokwati Police checkpoint at about 2100 hours on October 25, when the vehicle with registration number AS 6536 N pulled up.
He said during routine check by the police, five parcels containing the dried leaves were found concealed in a yellow sports mini bag placed on his lap.
Mr Kumah said the suspect admitted the offence and said he was sending the hemp to Accra for sale.
