What started as an innocuous advice to a bosom friend to go for a Yellow Fever inoculation has ended in a tragic death.
The advice degenerated into a hot argument and then a fight, between the two pals, Kofi Nimako and Ben, resulting in the death of Ben.
Nimako allegedly stabbed Ben three times on the chest with the metal hook of a waist belt.
According to the Tema Police, the two youngmen were separated by neighbours after the initial arguments and both went their own ways.
Chief Inspector Olivia Turkson, the Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer, told the Times Monday that at about 9:00p.m, Ben went back to Nimako and attempted again to persuade him to go for the jab, the next day.
The two, both of whom are said to hail from Akim Oda in the Eastern Region, argued again over the matter during which an enraged Ben allegedly removed his belt and started attacking Nimako.
At a point, the hook of the belt came off and landed right in front of Nimako who saw it as an opportunity to defend himself.
The police said Nimako grabbed the hook and stabbed, Ben thrice on the chest.
Ben bled profusely and fell unconscious.
He was rushed to the Tema General Hospital by neighbours but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Chief Inspector Turkson said the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The suspect has been arrested and police are investigating the incident.
