Black Meteors coach Malik Jabir is unperturbed about the Group of death tag associated with his side ahead of their All African Games to be held in Congo.
The former Asante Kotoko coach faces a daunting task of defending Ghana’s gold medal after being drawn with Egypt, Senegal and Nigeria.
But the Ghana coach is unfazed by names stating all countries in the competition have equal strengths.
“If you look at the two groups by name it doesn’t look the same. All the same, football in Africa, you cannot underrate anybody so I think since we all have been able to qualify to that level,it means we are equal. No point putting one over the other,” Malik told Joy Sports
“In recent times, Ghana comes out to say there are in the group of death and in the end you will see that some other nation not in the group of death comes to take the trophy.”
On Ghana’s opponents, Jabir admitted having knowledge on Nigeria and Egypt but had little by way of information on Senegal.
“I have played with Nigeria and I have got the opportunity to play Egypt in a friendly encounter but I know nothing about Senegal.”
Ghana won gold at the competition four years ago in Maputo under the tutelage of former Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah.
