Malik Jabir has moved to dispel rumours he has taken over as the technical director of Kotoko after pictures emerged from the training grounds of the club where he was having a pep talk with the players.
The Black Meteors coach has been linked with the role following Kotoko's abysmal second round form which has seen them winless in five.
After news broke of his appointment, Jabir has confirmed being approached but denied accepting the role as at now.
"The whole of last week I was at Wa when the acting General Manager called me to make a proposal to me to come and assist coach Michael Osei as a technical director to improve the current performances of the team," he said on Fox FM.
"I requested for five days to take a look at scene before I can accept or not."
"Luckily, the team were travelling to Bekwai to play New Edubiase United last Wednesday so I joined him to attend the match as a spectator just to observe certain things."
"I even visited the training grounds the next day. I went there not as a technical director but as part of my observations. I talked to the players that day upon the coach's request.
"I wonder how come it's all over the place I have been appointed technical director of the club.
"I will have to meet them to give them my response since they approached me to make the proposal.
"I have not been appointed as the technical director of Asante Kotoko."
