Mr. Alfred Addaquay, Managing Director of Le Monde Nouveau Restaurant in Kumasi, has called for the making of the study of French compulsory in all Tourism Training Institutions in the country.
He said this would help the products to be more versatile in providing quality service and guidance to a wider community for the accelerated development of the tourism industry.
Mr. Addaquaye was speaking to newsmen after the official inauguration of the Restaurant in Kumasi at the weekend.
He charged operators of restaurants to always work hard to ensure that they operate under hygienic conditions and also in compliance with the Ghana Tourist Board’s (GTB) operational requirements
The Managing Director stressed the need for them to promote local dishes in their menu to earn the needed foreign exchange for the country.
Mr. Addaquaye commended the GTB for their resolve to flush out sub standard restaurants and other tourist facilities ahead of the Ghana 2008 football tournament and said this would help to maintain the nation’s image.
