Striker Mahatma Otoo has apologised to Hearts fans for missing a penalty in the 0-0 draw with Aduana Stars on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old has been held responsible for Hearts’ failure to overtake rivals Asante Kotoko who lost to New Edubiase.
Otoo’s attempt to chip the ball over Aduana goalkeeper Stephen Adams went high and wide.
But the promising prospect insists he is not fazed by his critics and is already looking ahead to making amends in subsequent games.
”I feel very bad for missing the penalty but this is football and things like this happen,” he told MTNFootball.com.
“I would like to apologize to the fans for my miss but I assure them will make them happy again.”
Otoo would very much like to put his words into deeds when Hearts make a short trip to Dansoman to play Liberty Professionals in their next league game on Sunday.
