The NDC flagbearer has promised the chiefs and people of Shai Osudoku he will complete their roads which were abandoned by the Akufo-Addo government if he wins election 2020.

John Mahama spoke about the roads and many others at a meeting with the Osudoku Traditional Council at Osuwem in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region.

He empathised with the chiefs and the people explaining that the project which was awarded on contract by his administration but has been abandoned by the Akufo-Addo government.

He assured them that all abandoned projects will be completed when he returns to power in 2021.

The former President also addressed the issue of high unemployment in the country saying it is an urgent matter that has to be resolved as “it constitutes a national security threat”.

“Youth unemployment is the most serious danger to the stability and security of Ghana,” he added.

Mr Mahama stressed that the NDC is prepared to tackle the unemployment challenge stressing that the 'People's Manifesto' contains feasible solutions for the youth and the country.

He said the NDC would resolve the unemployment situation in the country using the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme, which would be introduced once the party wins the December polls.

According to him, this programme will equip students with skills which will make them fit for the job market.

He said the introduction of another programme, the National Apprenticeship Programme, will target school dropouts who would be trained by master craft persons and artisans in various traditional vocations such as dressmaking, hairdressing, barbering or vehicle repairing.

After the training, Mr Mahama said the youth will be equipped with the necessary tools and equipment needed to start their work at no cost.

The flagbearer of the NDC also mentioned that more jobs would be made available for the youth of the country, through the planned investment of $10 billion in infrastructure.
