The 2022 edition of the Luv FM High School Debate has been launched in Kumasi after weeks of intense promotion on radio and social media.
The event which sees Senior High Schools in the Ashanti Region battle out with arguments on motions based on issues of national interest will commence on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Christian Service University auditorium in Kumasi.
The launch will pave the way for a series of debates until new champions are crowned.
Last year's edition of the contest saw St. Monica's SHS being crowned champions after they beat Prempeh College.

General Manager of Multimedia Kumasi, Mri James Aglah says it is important students are given the opportunity to express their opinions on national interests.

“For four years, the Multimedia Group has demonstrated faith in its mantra of fearless, independent and credible journalism by giving young voices a platform to contribute to issues of national interest through the Luv FM High school debate series.”, he said
Mr Aglah added that “As a business, the Multimedia Group sees this as an opportunity to nurture and grow confident speakers and young talents to fill the business space and influence change in the society.”

The balloting saw schools matched up to kick-start the round of 16 of the contest.
Competitions between schools like Opoku Ware and St. Hubert's, Yaa Asantewaa and Our Lady of Grace SHS, Prempeh College and Ghana Muslim Mission, as well as Defending champions, St. Monica's SHS and SIMMS school are expected to be thrilling.

Other contests are between, KNUST SHS and Tepa SHS, TI AMASS (Fomena) and Osei Tutu SHS, Adventist Girls (Ntonso) and Presby SHS (Bompata), TI AMASS (Ksi.) and Kumasi High School.
Past winners from St. Monica’s SHS were also present and shared their experiences on the competition.

"This competition made us grow as individuals and we are confident in the future. We advise all debaters to never give up. You can make it.”, the winners said.
The Luv FM High school debate will be live on radio and Facebook at Luv 99.5 FM as well as Joy Prime and Joy Learning channels on MultiTV.
