The wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, has on behalf of her organization, the Alternative Source of Income Programme (ASOIP), presented a quantity of hospital equipment and accessories to four constituencies in the country.
The equipment, presented through the respective Members of Parliament, is to support deprived health centres in those constituencies.
Items presented include hospital beds, theatre clothing, wheel chairs, clutches, blankets, bed sheets, pillow cases and uniforms for doctors and nurses.
The recipients included the MP for Ho East, Juliana Azumah Mensah, MP for Mfantseman West Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, MP for Savelugu, Mary Salifu Boforo and the MP for Ketu South, Albert Zigah.
Thanking the Second Lady and ASOIP, Hon Mary Boforo said her constituency was grateful for the donation, noting that the beds and wheel chairs would be presented to the maternity ward of the district hospital.
Mr. Zigah observed that the donation came at the right time because a number of health centres in his area lacked such facilities.
Mrs. Mahama has presented a quantity of hospital equipment to the La General Hospital, Maamobi Polyclinic and some health centres in the Brong Ahafo Region. She has also adopted and supported numerous orphanages in the Greater Accra, Brong Ahafo and Northern Regions.
