Loading boy arraigned over alleged theft of driving mirror

The Kaneshie District Court has granted a loading boy, a GH¢2,000 bail with two sureties following his alleged theft of a driving mirror.

Felix Yeboah has denied the charge and is scheduled to appear in court again on January 13, 2025.

Police Chief Inspector Alice Adjei outlined the facts of the case, stating that Bismark Obeng, an auto mechanic apprentice at Nima, is the complainant.

Yeboah, who works as a loading boy at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, allegedly visited Obeng’s shop on December 22, 2024, around 1430 hours, claiming to buy dirty oil.

However, when told there was none, he left the shop.

Later that evening, around 2200 hours., Obeng, who was sleeping in the shop, spotted Yeboah hiding behind a Honda Civic brought in for repairs.

When Obeng raised an alarm, Yeboah fled, prompting a chase.

According to the prosecution, when Yeboah realized Obeng was close to catching him, he entered the Nima Police station and hid the stolen mirror from the Honda Civic under one of the accident vehicles parked at the station.

Yeboah was arrested, and the stolen mirror was recovered.

In his caution statement, Yeboah admitted to the theft and was subsequently charged before the court.
