Black Stars line-up against Qatar
Charles Akonnor secured his first win as Black Stars coach in the most emphatic style as they thrashed Qatar on Monday.
Akonnor made a poor start as Ghana were beaten 3-0 in his first game, however, an improved performance saw them overcome the Asian champions 5-1 at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey.
Captain Andre Ayew scored a brace, with English-born attacker Tariqe Fosu and Samuel Owusu scoring their debut goals. Striker Caleb Ekuban also found the back of the net in the convincing win.
Akonnor's side will now turn their attention to Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan next month.
