As punchlines go, George Lamptey delivered a knockout on Thursday after he supervised a 1-0 win against Hearts in Accra.
In a game played behind closed doors as the Phobians observed the last of their two home bans, Liberty made sure their pre-match brag that they'd wipe their city rivals on the floor was achieved.
The Dansoman side simply dominated the first half, and even when Hearts made to come into the game in the second, it was fruitless. All of which compelled the coach of the winning side to downplay the mystique surrounding the Accra giants.
"My boys were very comfortable with their play but with regards to the match, I would describe Hearts as the cheapest team we have played so far", he said.
"The opposition was too cheap and we should have finished them in the first half. It would be difficult for to them to take this league"
"This was not the Hearts we know, and we deserved to win".
Issah Mohammed Shaibu provided the game's only goal after 18 minutes.
