Actor and Movie Director, Fiifi Coleman has called on industry colleagues to invest and give room for the young and upcoming talents for a sustainable movie industry.
The actor explained that it is time for people to impact on others rather than taking absolute control of the industry like it is their personal property, because movie consumers always want to see new faces.
“We are passing through this industry, people should stop owning it and stop making it like your property. Leave a legacy where you will be like, when I was coming up in the industry, I mentored this person to be where I am right now," he said.
The actor cum producer told KMJ on Prime Morning that, the Ghana movie industry is growing steadily, but there is more room for improvement and that will happen if the established filmmakers understand that they cannot stay relevant forever.
He added that the only way to meet the consumers desire is to push more new faces because they are just passing through the industry with their talent and creativity, hence, the need to leave a legacy that will secure the future of the movie industry.
“There are these talented guys and girls who are coming up, but they are not enough, we need to push a lot of them out there to have a sustainable movie industry so that people will not say, ah! It’s the same faces,” he noted.
Fiifi added that there are lots of talented upcoming actors, producers, and directors in the movie industry but only a few have been allowed to shine and called on stakeholders to invest in the young talents so that they can take over from the veteran actors.
