Former Black Stars midfielder, Laryea Kingston, has revealed not being able to play at the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups still hurts him.
Having featured in the qualifying games for both tournaments, Kingston was omitted from Ghana's squad for the Mundial under Ratomir Dujkovic and Milovan Rajevac, a decision he believes has been difficult for him to get over.
The 41-year-old picked up a red card at the 2006 AFCON and was suspended prior to the World Cup before Rajevac also dropped him from his final squad for the South Africa experience.
In an interview with Radio Gold Talk Sports, he said, “Not going to the World Cup, 2006, 2010 for me is still a tough moment me when I think about it or when I start talking about it.”
“Because in 2006, I played every game, every qualifier, every friendly game, every game throughout the 2006 qualification, I was part of it but I couldn’t make it.
“In 2010, it was the same, I played every single game so last game to go to the World Cup, I was asked to go home.”
After making his debut for the Black Stars in 2002, Kingston went on to play 40 more games for the country scoring six times.
