Following Chelsea's convincing 3-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday evening, an unmistakable wave of confidence has engulfed Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Frank Lampard believes that the Blues can better Manchester United's double-winning season last term by adding the FA Cup to the Champions League and Premier League crowns.
Chelsea face Arsenal in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, are four points adrift from pole position in the top flight and have a triplet of away goals to protect when Liverpool visit west London for the concluding leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
"Everything is still up for grabs, even though we are behind in the league," Lampard said. "This performance [against Liverpool] just sets the tone for the rest of the season and who knows what can happen in the league and FA Cup now.
"It's just important we keep the standard we showed against Liverpool. When people see us play to that level and look at the strength of the squad, we are as good as anybody.
“We are a few points behind Manchester United in the league and all we can do is worry about ourselves and keep winning games.
"We have set high standards and we have to maintain those. It does give us confidence going into the other competitions but we can't relax as there is not long to go in the season.”
