LadySam’s ‘Include Her’ conference, supported by SHIMEI Solutions, held on March 9, at the Fiesta Royale Hotel, was a fun-packed event according to the testimonials.
The women came out in their numbers, and some men in attendance came to lend their support.
Guest speaker, Professor Lord Mawuko-Yevugah, a Political Economist and Professor of International Relations at GIMPA, started off the program with his thought-provoking speech.
He kept by asking “Where the women were, considering that women made up more than half of the population, how come they seemed not to be as much a part of the decision-making.”
The audience got the opportunity to hear firsthand from media personalities; Kokui Selormey, Helen Appiah-Ampofo, Edma Lawer, sales manager for GMABC, Mary-Anna Gyamfi, and the HR Manager for Nestlé Ghana, Sophia Benson, who were the speakers for the day.
The ladies shared strategic insights as to how to persevere through challenges, whether socially or professionally, they also shared tips on how to have a winning mindset.
Host of ‘African Women’s Voices Show’, Eunice Tornyi, was the MC for the event.
The ‘Include Her’ conference marks the fifth year that LadySam has organised an event to mark International Women’s Day (IWD).
March 8, is the day that women all over the world celebrate and mark Women’s Day. Although IWD was conceived in the early 1900s, it only became a global phenomenon when the United Nations adopted it as a global day in 1975.
The ‘Include Her’ gathering was held at the Fiesta Royale Hotel on Saturday, March 9, where the audience had the opportunity to network, and interact and were treated to a 3 course meal.
There was a surprise guest in the form of 2019 TV3 winner, Nakeyeet Dramani Sam who recited a powerful poem in front of the Include Her guests, Nakeeyat’s brother, Rahman Dramani Sam also surprised the crowd with a couple of songs, the talented siblings, made the occasion special.
LadySam, who was recently made the Acting Head of the Institute of the International Relations and Diplomacy Network Ghana, combined her experience as a marketer, customer service trainer and life coach to impart on the audience, as well as taking them through the wheel of life tool (a life assessment tool).
LadySam also came to her surprise as she launched her NGO, SHIMEI S.E.E.P, SHIMEI being a biblical name, meaning reputation or fame, whilst S.E.E.P stands for SHIMEI Empowerment and Education Program.
