Authorities at the La General Hospital are taking steps to review the requirement for releasing dead bodies.
It follows an attack on some workers of the hospital for refusing to release a corpse to its owners.
The angry relatives stoned the security officer and his assistant for insisting they could only carry their dead in an ambulance.
Hospital authorities have condemned the attack and are now promising to review the directive to avoid such clashes.
Dr Patrick Frimpong, the Medical Director of the La-General Hospital said “if anybody comes, we shouldn’t force to put them in any ambulance or hearse. They should take their own decisions. We are helping but if it is not yielding any positive results they should live them to do whatever they like.
“We are going to issue a statement that it is not obligatory for anyone to just get the ambulance,” he said.
