Dr. Francis N.A Sowah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the La-Dadekotopon constituency, has donated five plastic water reservoirs costing 6,000 Ghana cedis to help solve the acute water shortage facing some communities in the area.
Speaking to the GNA after the presentation, the aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) said he saw the donation as his social responsibility to help in solving the water problem as a way of ensuring the good health of the people and to avoid epidemics in the area.
Dr Sowah said he was touched when he saw people walking long distances in search of water and promised to provide more tanks to be placed at strategic points in the constituency to enable the people to have access to pipe-borne water.
Mr Emmanuel Afua Tetteh, Constituency Organiser and Mr Gaans Lartey, Organiser in Charge of Campaign Operations both of the NPP received the tanks on behalf of the communities.
Mr Tetteh commended Dr Sowah for his foresight and concern for the plight of the people and stated that apart from their purchase, he also provided money for mounting the tanks.
Mr Lartey promised that the tanks would be put to good use to benefit the people.
