Adam Larsen Kwarasey's World Cup hopes are still alive after the GFA kick-started the process of formalising his transition to a full blown Ghana international.
The Norway-based goalkeeper has been keen to join the battle for one of the goalkeeper's shirt for the Black Stars and that ambition has received a major boost with official communication from the Norway Football Federation stating it has no objection to Kwarasey's desire to switch nationality after representing them at the Under-20 level.
Now armed with that and documents proving his links to Ghana in the form of his father's Ghanaian passport, the GFA is preparing the strongest possible case to get the switch endorsed as quickly.
The GFA came in for intense flack for reportedly playing slow in the bid to get the switch formalised but have always insisted the delay had nothing to do with them.
If the switch happens, Kwarasey who has already turned in some outstanding performances for Stromsgodset in the Norwegian top flight will join the bid for one of two places in the world cup squad in the goalkeeping department that many people think is wide open.
National Under-20 goalkeeper Daniel Adjei, Hearts of Oak's Phil McCarthy and Stephen Ahorlu of Heart of Lions are some of the other goalkeepers in contention.
