The Kwahu United Association of Chicago is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a call on Ghanaians to be proud of their culture.
The celebration will therefore see the exhibition of the culture of the people of Kwahu.
The anniversary celebration will also witness fund raising to support the development of the Kwahu area.
Speaking to myjoyonline on the event, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Emmanuel Sekyere Asiedu said education for instance is high on the association’s agenda.
“The economic development of the Kwahu area interests the association a great deal and we are committed to supporting development projects in the area,” he stated.
He said business fora will also be held to link up members of the association with the business community in the United States.
That, he said, is meant to help build the capacity of people by creating business opportunities for them.
He explained that “the business networking session is to create the opportunity for our people back home to speak to people willing to do business in Ghana”.
According to him, the Kwahumanhene, Nana Akuamoah Boateng will be the special guest of honour in addition to other eminent persons who will be invited.
