Asante Kotoko supporter and columnist for the club’s newspaper Kojo Addae Mensah says the club can achieve greater heights if it is liberated from Manhyia Palace.
The current trend where the club’s owner and Life Patron Otumfuo Osei Tutu II appoints the administrative head of the club is failing to yield dividends Addae Mensah suggested.
There is still uncertainty as to the next direction of the club after the Paul Adu Gyamfi Board was given two weeks to present its report before a decision could be taken.
“It is a huge issue that i have with the current set up, we need to devolve the club from Manhyia from crying out loud,” said Addae Mensah
“They have helped us many times but it is not as consistent as Abramovich will deal with Chelsea and that is a source of worry to me.
“Football has changed," he said, adding Kotoko must emulate the TP Mazembe, model which has seen the club rise to the highest pinacle in African football.
