General Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Opoku Nti says the appearance of Life Patron Otumfuo Osei Tutu at the club’s training ground on Tuesday should be a morale booster ahead of Sunday’s league clash against in-form Liberty Professionals.
Unwanted head coach David Duncan is holding onto his job despite being told to step aside.
He was at the Adako Jachie to hold a training session but nobody showed up but on the other side, the players trained with assistant coach Michael Osei.
Later on Tuesday, the management changed the locks on the gates of the training ground to prevent coach Duncan from having access in the afternoon.
“Otumfuor’s intervention is fantastic, he has changed the atmosphere and the boys are in high spirit now,” Opoku Nti told reports
“I believe his visit to the training ground will go a long way to motivate the players to give the Kotoko family something to cheer about.
‘The decision taken I believe will help the club because we needed to act, whatever it is we must move on and I know very soon things will change.”
Asante Kotoko will face Liberty Professionals on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in a match day-7 fixture.
