The NDC has suspended Samuel Koku Anyidoho from the party with immediate effect, but it did not state any reason for its decision.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the party in a letter on Monday said at a meeting on January 20, this year, the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) considered two separate petitions from two members.
According to the chief scribe, after FEC deliberated on the petition, it took a decision in accordance with Articles 46(1), 46(6) and 46(8)(b) of the party’s constitution.

Subsequently, it has suspended Mr Koku Anyidoho membership with immediate effect and will refer the petitions to the party’s disciplinary committee for further action.
He explained that two petitioners lodged an official complaint against his former deputy “which is viewed in breach of the party’s disciplinary code for its members as contained in the NDC constitution.”
In one of the petitions, Mr Adjei said, “On January 10, 2021, he [Mr Anyidoho] tweeted; To the extent that President Akufo-Addo is a product of the Nkrumah Ideological Institute; I shall support him to succeed. Ghana First.”
He also said, “On January 16, 2021, he tweeted; For the news portals that continue to refer to me as NDC Deputy General Secretary; they should know that I no longer speak for the NDC because Asiedu Nketia decreed that I have no locus to speak on behalf of the party on the day Ofosu Ampofo was invited to the CID HQ.
