The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) on Saturday, September 21, launched its manifesto and also unveiled the running mate to the flagbearer ahead of the December 7 general election.
The flagbearer, Mr Kofi Agbenu Akpaloo, unveiled Mrs Elizabeth Sam as his running mate at the ceremony held at the OLA SHS in Ho in the Volta Region.
Addressing the ceremony, Akpaloo said his call to be the president of the republic is guided by the divine spirit, God.
Speaking on key areas of his manifesto, he noted that he would make use of the country's mineral resources for development without discrimination.
He said he would establish a 10 billion dollar fund to support young entrepreneurs and those who need support to establish enterprises.
Mr Akpaloo said he's concerned about children, promising that every Ghanaian child will receive an amount of 500 cedis each month as a child benefit. He said the money is to support parents in raising their children.
Touching on youth unemployment, the LPG leader said he would pay all unemployed youth above the age of 18 an amount of 700 cedis as unemployment benefits. He said the money would be paid by the central government under his leadership.
His running mate, Elizabeth Sam, in her speech, thanked Mr Akpaloo for choosing her.
She promised to be a good supporter, and also, when the mandate is given to them in the December polls, the LPG will work to give Ghanaians the economic freedom they desire.
Hundreds of supporters and sympathizers of the party attended the event.
All 18 parliamentary candidates of the party in the Volta Region also attended with their constituency executives and called on Ghanaians to give the LPG the mandate.
