Kevin-Prince Boateng has promised to aid Ghana’s campaign at the Fifa World Cup finals in South Africa next month as he chases a slot in the final 23-man squad.
The 23-year-old is highly tipped to make the team and has set his sights on playing a pivotal role for the West African country.
Boateng, a former Germany youth international, has targeted to run the show when Ghana play his country of birth on 23 June in the last Group D match.
“Obviously, the Germany game is a special one for me. But I can promise the Ghana fans this: I play to win, even against my brother – or my father or mother, for that matter,” the Portsmouth midfielder told Fifa.com
“I think Germany are favourites, although you have to fancy the Serbs too. But I know we have quality in the team, and I’m convinced we can spring a surprise.”
Boateng had his nationality switch ratified by Fifa a fortnight ago and has pitched camp with Ghana’s preliminary 30-man squad in Paris for their pre-tournament training.
