Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has been sued by Mr. Joseph Yamin for defamation.
According to the member of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong accused him of being a 'killer' on live television.
Among other demands, the former Deputy Sports Minister through his lawyer, Evans Amankwah is asking the Accra High Court to grant damages of ¢95 million.
He is also asking for the allegation to be retracted, as well as an apology rendered on the same channel three times a day for a year.
Joseph Yammin, who is suing both the MP and his company, Ken City Media Limited says Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, during a show on his radio station, Oman FM accused him of conspiring to commit series of murders to create instability in the country ahead of the December elections.
“The plaintiff avers that, on or about 14th day of May 2020, the 1st defendant published false news about the plaintiff which were defamatory on the 2nd defendant media airwaves OMAN FM 107.1”.
The plaintiff contends that the said stories published by Kennedy Agyapong and Ken City Media are vexatious, a total fabrication, and have exposed him to hatred, ridicule, and contempt," part of the lawsuit read.
