Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong

Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, has rendered an unqualified apology to the Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, judges and magistrates in the country.

This follows an angry outburst by the legislator last Wednesday during a television programme.

The businessman who was speaking on the Seat Show on Net 2 TV had expressed anger over a decision by a judge to grant an injunction against him without allegedly conducting due diligence.

Using unprintable words, the MP said he had a vendetta against judges in the country who abuse their power in their line of duty.

Among other things, Mr. Agyapong had also threatened to 'face the judge" who gave the verdict.

But in a statement addressed to the Chief Justice, the outspoken MP said, "upon sober reflection, I have come to the realisation that without prejudice to the substantive case, my expression about the court's opinion was harsh."

He also stated that, prior to the publication of his letter to the Chief Justice, he has also appeared on the same platform on September 7, 2020 to apologise for his outburst.

Mr Kennedy Agyapong concluded his statement by reiterating his trust in the judicial system and, therefore, cannot denigrate its integrity.

"Indeed I was set free by the court when I was charged with treason in 2012," he said.
