The Central Regional Police Command says it has retrieved the gun fired by Special Development Minister, Mavis Hawa Koomson after they invited her to file her statement.
The Police retrieved the weapon and ammunition together with the license on Thursday.
Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service in the Central Region, DSP Irene Oppong disclosed this after the interrogation.
"We are in possession of her gun, ammunition and the accompanying licence. The case docket is no more here at the Cape Coast regional CID but at the headquarters in Accra," she said.
In a related Development, Queen Mother of Awutu Traditional Council Naa- Kyei Dode Akaabi also called on the government beep up security in the country to end violence in the ongoing registration exercise in the country.
Describing the development as a dent on the image of the traditional area during a press conference, the Queen Mother appealed to authorities that "firing of guns and burning property is bad. If you kill us, who will be alive to vote for you?" she quizzed.
Furthermore, Omanhene of Awutu Traditional Council Nai Abokuadze Agyeman Otabil also condemned infighting between NPP and NDC in Kasoa.
The Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency admitted to firing a gun at a voters’ registration centre in the constituency on Monday, July 20.
According to the MP, she took the firearm – which she refused to identify – to the registration centre to protect herself.
