Karela United were held to a 1-1 draw against Basake Holy Stars at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
The home side took the lead in the 20th minute when Alhassan Adamu netted his third goal in two matches.
Karela held onto their slim lead as the two teams went into the break.
In the second half, Basake Holy Stars’ persistence paid off when they were awarded a penalty, which substitute Bismark Teye converted to level the score at 1-1 in the 73rd minute.
Despite both teams pushing for a winner, the match ended with the points shared.
Karela United remain stuck in the relegation zone, placed 16th with 18 points, while Basake Holy Stars are in 10th place with 24 points.
Karela’s next match will see them travel to face Heart of Lions, while Basake Holy Stars will host Nsoatreman FC.
