The president of the Zambian Football Association, Kalusha Bwalya believes Ghana FA president Kwasi Nyantakyi has a great advantage over other candidates seeking election into the CAF Executive Committee for Zone West B in Sudan next month.
The most capped Zambian player and 1988 African Footballer of the Year noted that, looking at the tremendous achievements of Mr. Nyantakyi since assuming office as the GFA president, he believes Nyantakyi stands tall.
"He is very popular among the various football associations in Africa and he has many capabilities to serve Africa and I hope he wins," he said.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s sports morning show, Kalusha Bwalya announced he was in Ghana to honour an invitation from the Ghana FA to be part of Ghana's third FIFA Goal Project at Prampram.
He called the FIFA-backed projects as a right direction towards the development of football since they are awarded, in FIFA's estimation, to successful football nations and to encourage infrastructure development.
Mr. Bawalya said before a country is awarded a FIFA goal project, its accounts must have been audited and there must be a clear show of growing the game.
Zambia is now heading to FIFA goal project 4 and the African football legend believes the country has come of age in terms of football administration and deserves all that the country is earning from FIFA.
He advised young footballers around the continent to take education seriously and not only focus on the football since one day after retiring they can also take up major positions in the football administration in their various countries.
