The Member of Parliament for the Akan Constituency, Yao Gomado is accusing the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Kadjebi, Wilson Agbanyo of peddling falsehood.
This comes after the DCE said he had no knowledge of the deployment of National Security in the Constituency and their operation which resulted in the death of two young footballers.
Speaking on Joy FM on Wednesday, December 27, Mr Gomado said the DCE knew about the presence and deployment of National Security operatives in the Akan Constituency.
The MP alleged that the personnel, who are carrying out anti-cocoa smuggling operations in the Oti Region, shot four people two weeks ago.
Two young footballers died after a head-on collision between their motorbike and a National Security vehicle.
Residents insist the DCE is aware of the deployment of the National Security personnel and the two footballers were deliberately targeted.
“I hear the residents are saying that he [DCE] has no idea about the presence of the National Security operatives in his district. It is false. Two weeks ago, these very people who were wearing uniforms that belonged to National Security operatives, arrested a young man that he was the one they arrested and he escaped carrying cocoa.
"He said he wasn’t the one. During the struggle, he managed to escape and they started firing out of which four men were shot. So if the DCE is saying he is not aware then it is false,” he said.
Meanwhile, some residents are calling for the resignation of the DCE over the deployment of National Security operatives to the Constituency.
But the DCE for Kadjebi says he will not resign despite calls from some residents for him to do so.
He, however, described the death of the two footballers as unfortunate.
“Why would I tender in my resignation? This is just an unfortunate incident… I did not deploy National Security into the Constituency,” he said.
