Kwaku Akumani, a -15-year old JSS one pupil of Bibeaniha Methodist near Ajumako Ochiso in the Central region who abandoned school and accompanied a chainsaw operator and met his death when a tree fell on him.
According to the Agona Bobikuma Police, a chainsaw operator, whose name was given only as Ato came to the village sometime in April this year where he fell big trees on some farms in the area and took the boy with him as his operator boy.
The police said the parents of the boy not satisfy with their movement warned Ato not to be sending their son, Akumani to the bush to the disadvantage of his education.
The police said despite this, Ato continued go to the bush with the boy and on June 8 2007, a silk-cotton tree Ato was felling landed on Akumani, killing him instantly.
His body has been deposited at the Winneba government hospital for autopsy, while police investigations continues, the police said.
