This series is from the team at 99.7FM, tracking the latest moves in the summer transfer window. We call it the #JoySports Transfer Daily. Here, we summarize all the moves and rumours in a quick, easy to read format. The series started on July 4 and ends on August 31.

With the domestic football season long behind us, here's all you need to know about the summer transfer window...

When does the transfer window open?

The 2016 summer transfer window opened on Thursday, June 9 for Premier League clubs. 

When does the transfer window close?

The 2016 summer transfer window will close on Wednesday, August 31 - two and a half weeks after the start of the 2016/17 Premier League season.

Do European leagues have different dates?

While France's Ligue 1 has the same transfer window dates as the Premier League, there are slight differences in Spain, Germany and Italy.

The summer transfer windows in La Liga, the Bundesliga and Serie A do not open until Friday, July 1.

However, like England and France, the transfer windows in the top flights in Spain, Germany and Italy all close on Wednesday, August 31.

So far, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed with Manchester United, Ilkay Gundogan has signed for Manchester City, Sadio Mane has joined Liverpool while Arsenal grabbed Swiss international Granit Xhaka....

STONES AND SANE TO CITY?

Pep Guardiola has been given the green light to complete a £100m double deal for John Stones and Leroy Sane after both players hinted they wanted to join Manchester City.Matters have now been left in the hands of City director Txiki Begiristain, who will now try to agree prices with Everton and Schalke respectively.City want the deals completed before they head to China for their pre-season tour next week.And their cause was aided after Stones reportedly informed Everton he intends to leave and Sane told Schalke he wants to move to the Premier League.

DANILO STAYING AT REAL

Danilo says there is no chance of him leaving Real Madrid this summer.The Brazilian moved to the Bernabeu from Porto last year and endured a tricky first season in the Spanish capital, ending the campaign as second-choice right-back behind Dani Carvajal.“I only see the rumours via the press. When there is something concrete it always goes through my agents. And for something to happen, it’s [Real] Madrid who must tell me that they do not want me.I am very happy in Madrid, the president is happy with me and I am with [coach Zinedine] Zidane. The possibility of leaving Madrid is zero," Danilo said.

LUIS ALBERTO COULD RETURN TO SEVILLA

The midfielder has returned to the club following his loan at Deportivo.He hasn’t been involved in the Reds’ first two pre-season game and Jurgen Klopp is happy to let him go.Sevilla, who sold him to Liverpool for £6.8million three years ago, are the front-runners for his signature but no deal is yet in place.

GIACCHERINI SET FOR NAPOLI

The 31-year-old joined the Black Cats in 2013 but spent last season on loan at Bologna.He enjoyed an impressive Euro 2016 and is now on the verge of joining Napoli.His agent said:It’s all done, the last few details with Sunderland are being smoothed out. Emanuele is very happy to join Napoli, a great team that will be playing to win. He’s finally getting what he deserves, after being underestimated for years.

JUVENTUS WANT SONG

Juventus are lining up a move for out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder Alex Song. The former Arsenal and West Ham player is back at the Nou Camp after spending last season on loan at Upton Park, but he doesn’t fit into Luis Enrique’s plans.That has opened the door for Serie A Champion Juve to make their move for the 28-year-old, who is under contract at Barca until next season.

BARCA CLOSE IN ON VIETTO

Barcelona are closing in on the signing of Luciano Vietto.Barca boss Luis Enrique has been keen to sign a forward to act as back-up for Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar for several months and he has identified Vietto as an ideal target.The 22-year-old is open to a move to the Nou Camp and Barca must now reach an agreement with his current club Atletico Madrid, with theyoungster set to head to the La Liga champions on loan.

MATIC NEEDED AT THE BRIDGE

Chelsea have told Nemanja Matic they want him to stay put, despite interest from Juventus and Manchester United. Though the Blues are linked with N'Golo Kante, Radja Nainggolan and Axel Witsel, Matic still has a future at Stamford Bridge.

DONE DEAL:

Fenerbahce have completed the signing of Liverpool centre-back Martin Skrtel.His eight year stay at Liverpool has now come to an end.Fenerbache have paid around £5.5m for his services.

ROMA WANT POLISH KEEPER

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has expressed an interest in bringing Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny back to the Italian capital next season. He is reported as saying: "Both the goalkeepers [Alisson and Bogdan Lobont] are strong, but we still don't have Szczesny. We have two strong goalkeepers, so we'll see their reaction but that's always an advantage. We're working on Szczesny, for now we have Lobont."

STOKE EYE LEMINA

Stoke are prepared to offer Juventus £12million for their Gabon midfielder Mario Lemina.Potters boss Mark Hughes has identified Lemina in his search for a holding midfielder after missing out on Axel Witsel.Hughes wants another quality midfielder to play alongside record £18.2million signing Giannelli Imbula, even though Glenn Whelan has just signed a new 12-month deal.Stoke are leading the race for Lemina, who made his loan move to Juventus from Marseille permanent in April in a £7.5million deal, and Leicester’s initial interest has waned.

JESUS HEADING TO ROMA

Defender Juan Jesus is set to join AS Roma from rivals Inter Milan after the Serie A club said the Brazilian had arrived at their training camp on Wednesday.The 25-year-old struggled to break through into the starting line-up under manager Roberto Mancini last season, making just 19 appearances in the league, after being a regular for three seasons at San Siro.Local media reports said that the defender will join Roma on a loan deal, with an option of a permanent move.

NACHO NEARING ROMA SWITCH

Real Madrid defender Nacho is edging nearer to a move to Roma.The agreement between all parties could be finalised in the next hours after the player's agent Jose Segui met Roma officials at their club offices on Wednesday.A loan move was touted at first, but it appears as though the defender will join Roma on a permanent deal. The Italian giants will pay Real Madrid €11m (£9.2m), while the 26-year-old will earn €2m (£1.7m) a season.Madrid, meanwhile, will insert a €15m (£12.5m) buyback clause into the deal.

DORTMUND JOIN SISSOKO CHASE

Borussia Dortmund have joined Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in the chase for Newcastle's £20m-rated Moussa Sissoko.

 

IBE COMPLETES BOURNEMOUTH MOVE

AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe for an undisclosed fee.The 20-year-old has penned a four-year deal at Vitality Stadium to become the club's fifth summer signing.The England U21 international made 41 appearances for the Reds in all competitions last season, including six games in the Europa League as Jurgen Klopp’s side made it to the final.Cherries chief executive, Neill Blake, said: "We’re delighted to bring Jordon to the football club."He played plenty of football with Liverpool last season and we’re looking forward to seeing him to continue to grow now with us, he’s a huge prospect."We’ve now signed five players this summer, all of whom have an abundance of potential."It shows that we’re serious about nurturing talent at this football club and we have the long term in mind when we say we want to stay in the Premier League."

WATFORD EYE JANMAAT

Watford are keeping tabs on Newcastle full-back Daryl Janmaat, although the Magpies are demanding a £10 million fee.The 26-year-old is keen to quit St James’ Park following the club’s relegation to the Championship, and Watford are looking for a new right-back after both Allan Nyom and Juan Carlos Paredes failed to convince last season.However, Rafa Benitez wants to keep as many players as possible at Newcastle and will hope the price tag will put the Hornets off making a move for the Netherlands international.
