In today's edition...

SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED

Angel di Maria has signed for Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth around £45million. Both PSG and Manchester United have confirmed that the transfer has gone through, which became clear when the Argentina winger failed to board his flight to join United on their pre-season tour of the US.

NO WAY, PEDRO

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has rejected claims that Manchester United are about to sign Pedro and has even gone as far as saying they are yet to receive an offer for the Spain forward. United are hoping to tie up a deal for Pedro, who has a £22million release clause, before the end of the transfer window.

VALDES ABSENT FROM TRAINING

Goalkeeper Victor Valdes was conspicuous by his absence as Manchester United players modelled their new training kit at Carrington on Wednesday. Louis van Gaal has told Valdes that he will remain a reserve player until further notice, with several clubs understood to be monitoring the situation.

BUT DE GEA DEPARTURE HINT?

David De Gea’s girlfriend has inadvertently confirmed the Manchester United stopper’s transfer to Real Madrid. Edurne Garcia, who is a 29-year-old popstar, won’t be doing herself any favours with the Old Trafford faithful especially after she was once quoted as saying Manchester was ‘uglier than the back of a fridge’ while taking part in a TV interview in Spain on Wednesday night. But Garcia’s dislike for the city of Manchester won’t cut as deep as the reported quotes that followed her high profile interview.

MASCH STAYING PUT

Barcelona's Javier Mascherano has quashed rumours linking him with a move to Italy, claiming his "bond is with Barcelona". Roma, Milan and Juventus have all been linked with the 31-year-old but he is in no rush to move. "I'm aware of the interest shown by other clubs towards me, but I think there can be no doubts about my bond with Barcelona,” said Mascherano. "It's a bond that is always the same and that will stay this way until my last day here.”

CHELSEA AFFECTING STONES

John Stones has been affected by Chelsea's attempts to sign him, according to Everton manager Roberto Martinez. Stones, 21, was the subject of two unsuccessful bids from the Premier League champions during July. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, having seen offers of £20m and £26m turned down, has played down the prospect of making a third offer before the transfer window closes on Sept. 1. And Everton manager Martinez has reiterated his stance that the club do not need to sell

LIFE'S NOT FER

Leroy Fer’s move from QPR to Sunderland is off after he failed a medical for the second time in his career – the first coming at Everton two years ago. That raises the possibility of Fer remaining in the Championship with QPR at least until January.

IN FOR CHARLIE

Tottenham are now considering a move for Charlie Austin, and have reportedly contacted Queens Park Rangers about signing the 26-year-old. Austin is rated at £15million by QPR, but Spurs value him at closer to £10million. Spurs, who could throw in a loanee as a sweetener, are keen to thrash out a deal sooner rather than later.

DESTRO ON THE MOVE

Mattia Destro could leave Roma and join Bologna for €9m as Fiorentina's interest in the player fades. The poacher was one of the hottest names on the transfer market last year, but he appears headed for Bologna.

INLER TO BESIKTAS

Besiktas are reportedly willing to offer Inler a substantial contract to persuade Inler to leave his current club Napoli. The 31-year-old is the target of the Turkish club and could leave the Partenopei before the end of the summer. Besiktas are reportedly ready to offer €2.5m yearly plus bonuses for the player, which could raise his salary to €3m. Leicester are also interested.

DE BRUYNE KEEN ON MOVE

Wolfsburg star Kevin de Bruyne has refused to rule out leaving the club before the transfer window closes. Manchester City and Bayern Munich have been strongly linked with the former Chelsea man this summer. De Bruyne, 24, told reporters: “I am not the one telling the people I am definetely going to stay. Just to move on two weeks later. “You always have to keep these things without a definitive statement. I believe people know the way I am. I am just trying to stay loyal and tell the truth.”

DONE DEAL

Dutch winger Eljero Elia has joined Feyenoord on a two-year deal, leaving Werder Bremen after three seasons. The 28-year-old Elia, who has also played for Hamburg and Juventus, spent the second half of last season on loan at Southampton.

GODIN TO CITY?

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin is a transfer target for Manchester City, according to Spanish media reports. AS are reporting that Manuel Pellegrini has identified the Uruguay international as the player to build his defence around. Given Mangala's form, they certainly need him!

DONE DEAL

Sunderland have signed midfielder Yann M’Vila on a season-long loan from Rubin Kazan. M'Vila, who has won 22 caps for France, spent last season on loan at Inter Milan. He began his career in his homeland with Rennes before joining Kazan in Russia. Sunderland sporting director Lee Congerton told the club’s website: "Yann is a player who is highly regarded by a number of the elite clubs across Europe, playing for his national team of France from a young age.

NO LOVE FOR THE MIDLANDS

Emmanuel Adebayor's move to Aston Villa from Tottenham Hotspur has hit the buffers because he wants to commute from London to the Midlands every day. Adebayor's refusal to fully commit to life in the Midlands has understandably annoyed Villa boss Tim Sherwood, and the deal is on the rocks.

CHICARITO SET TO LEAVE

Javier Hernandez looks set to leave Manchester United, but not for West Ham or Tottenham, which has looked like the Mexican's likely move in the past couple of weeks. An "unnammed MLS team" have reportedly offered United $10million for the striker and, according to reports, he has 24 hours to decide if he wants the move.

POTTY FOR POTTERS

Ukraine striker Andriy Yarmolenko has told Dynamo Kiev's chairman he will not renew his contract amid continued interest from Stoke. The 25-year-old has scored 70 goals in 175 appearances for Kiev and has been capped 49 times by his country. Mark Hughes's work this summer has been superb, particularly if he can land Yarmolenko.

NEW DEALS FOR EVERTON DUO

Everton pair James McCarthy and Kevin Mirallas are to sign new deals with the club. McCarthy, 24, will pen a new five-year contract to ward off interest from Manchester City. Belgian Mirallas, 27, will also get a contract extension having been the subject of a £6m bid from West Ham last month.

HAPPY HANDS, SEE?

Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has signed a new four-year contract with Swansea to boost the Welsh club ahead of the coming Premier League season. The former Arsenal stopper has found his best form in South Wales and this news is encouraging for both player and club.

WATFORD TO LOAN A KEEPER FOR....TWO WEEKS

Watford have made another audacious move in the loan market – by lining Venezualan international goalkeeper Rafael Romo for just two WEEKS. Romo, 25, will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League opener at Everton when he completes a short-term switch from Udinese – who are owned, like Watford, by the Italian Pozzo family. Hornets boss Quique Sanchez Flores offered Romo a short-term stopover at Vicarage Road from Watford’s ‘sister’ club in Italy after discovering summer signing Giedrius Arlauskis is suspended for the first two games of the season.

MITROGLOU SET FOR BENFICA

Fulham’s Greek forward Kostas Mitroglou is close to joining Benfica on loan. Manager Kit Symons said: “There’s a good chance that Kostas will be off on loan shortly. If so it will be to Benfica but it’s not confirmed yet.” Mitroglou joined the west London club from Olympiacos for £11m in January 2014 but has failed to replicate the form that earned him the move.

K-P BOATENG DEAL CRASHES

This series is from the team at 99.7FM, tracking the latest moves in the window. We call it the #JoySports Transfer Daily. Here, we summarize all the moves and rumours in a quick, easy to read format. The series started in July 1 and ends on August 31.

When does the transfer window open?

The Premier League season wrapped up on May 24 and there has been a slew of confirmed transfers since - including James Milner and Danny Ings to Liverpool and Memphis Depay's move to Manchester United. But the window did not officially open until 12am on Wednesday 1 July 2015.

Is that the same across Europe?

No it is not. The transfer window dates for the major European leagues have yet to be finalised, but France, Germany, Spain and Italy's tends to open at the beginning of June rather than July. This means players from those leagues can agree moves into England, but transfers will not be ratified until July 1. The Dutch summer transfer window tends to open in the second week of June.
