IN TODAY'S EDITION......

NO BARCA CONTACT FOR VIETTO

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has scotched suggestions Barcelona are about to seal a €22m deal for striker Luciano Vietto.Recent reports in Spain have suggested that Barca are on the verge of snapping up Vietto, who joined Atletico Madrid from Villarreal last summer. Sevilla have also been linked with the Argentinian too. Atleti president Cerezo has discussed the youngster’s situation and says he wants the player to stay at the Vicente Calderon, although hinted that the hitman could leave.“Luciano Vietto is an Atletico player and right now we have not decided anything, nor have we received an offer from Barcelona,." "It is not logical to say that he will go to Barcelona, because we have not had contact with them.“I am one of those who thinks that players have to be at the club where they are wanted. Neither is Vietto going to Sevilla on loan. We want him to stay, but also we have to say how things develop. He is a fantastic player, with enormous potential. I want to stay here this year, I feel loved by the fans who want the best for me, and the best is yet to come.“I hope to be allowed to start afresh- I’d like to push on, to continue improving. After being at Real for five years, I want to make the next step.”

JUVE EYE MASCHERANO AS POGBA REPLACEMENT

The Serie A champions want the Barcelona man to fill the large gap that would be left in their midfield by a £100 million or so Pogba move.Mascherano, once of West Ham and Liverpool, could be tempted to Juve despite having voiced a desire to stay at Barcelona. But just in case he isn't, other names in the frame include Chelsea's Nemanja Matic, Mateo Kovacic of Real Madrid and Inter's Marcelo Brozovic.

UNITED EYE BONUCCI

Manchester United are understood to be exploring the possibility of signing Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci.Jose Mourinho is keen on strengthening his defence this summer and is thought to have identified the Italy international. With United also intent on signing Paul Pogba, however, the likelihood of signing Bonucci too appears to be slim after Alvaro Morata returned to Real Madrid.

KOULIBALY WANTS EXIT

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly wants to leave the club, according to his agent."The desire of the player is to leave the club, not renew," the agent said. "We are told by the club that he is a great player, but from the renewal on offer we don't see this."

TRIO NOT IN SPURS’ PLANS

Nabil Bentaleb looks to be on his way out of Tottenham after manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed the Algeria international is not in his plans for the forthcoming season. The 21-year-old was not taken on the club's pre-season tour of Australia, where Spurs will play Juventus and Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup. Also missing from that trip is winger Alex Pritchard, who is expected to leave the club this summer, and defender Federico Fazio, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla.Clinton N'Jie, linked with a move to Marseille in recent days, remains in London, but Pochettino insists his absence is down to injury.Speaking at a press conference in Australia, Pochettino said: "Njie is injured - he is in London and not available to come. The situation of the other three players is very clear. They are not in my plans."

VALENCIA EYE BARCA PAIR

Valencia are expecting to speed up their negotiations for the transfers of Barcelona players Cristian Tello and Martin Montoya once Andre Gomes’ move to the Camp Nou is finalised.Valencia are keen on the out-of-favour Barca pair – some reports have suggested that they will be included in the Gomes deal – and they will ramp up their interest once Portugal international Gomes has sealed his Camp Nou switch.Barcelona, who announced that they had reached an agreement to sign Gomes last week, expect the 22-year-old to carry out his medical and sign his contract on Tuesday.

INTER WANT TO KEEP ICARDI

Inter aren't selling Mauro Icardi, or at least that's what they're saying."There is no agreement. Inter will be keeping Icardi, as well as other players," said sporting director Piero Ausilio. "Our ambition is to reinforce the squad and the club by keeping our top players."

VARANE STAYING AT REAL

Raphael Varane has explained why he is staying at Real Madrid amid speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United. The France international has revealed his admiration for Madrid fans and how he wants to continue developing at the Bernabeu.“I want to stay here [at Real Madrid] this year, I feel loved by the fans who want the best for me, and the best is yet to come.“I hope to be allowed to start afresh- I’d like to push on, to continue improving. After being at Real for five years, I want to make the next step.”

N’JIE MOVING DESPITE INJURY

Tottenham forward Clinton N'Jie is still expected to join Marseille on a season-long loan despite picking up a calf injury. The 22-year-old, who joined Spurs from Lyon last summer, completed a medical with the Ligue 1 club over the weekend but is currently waiting on the renewal of his working visa in France. The delay has also held up the £10.8m move of young Marseille winger George Kevin N'Koudou to White Hart Lane, which has all been agreed. N'Jie's absence from the club’s pre-season tour of Australia was down to a knock, which is understood to be a slight calf muscle problem that will sideline him for about 10 days but not affect his potential move.

SIMEONE TO ARGENTINA

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) will this week talk to Diego Simeone about the national team head coach vacancy. However, with the AFA in full crisis mode, board members can’t afford to fly to Madrid and speak to the Atletico Madrid boss. Instead they will discuss with him over a video conference the possibility of taking over from Gerardo Martino on a part-time basis. It is a peculiar time in Argentinean football, with its governing body on its knees and the subject of interventions from FIFA, CONMEBOL and its own government. There is no president, no agreed date for elections, no leadership, no plan, no money in the till and no strategy. There is no confirmed format for the upcoming domestic league campaign.

GAMEIRO RACE INTENSIFIES

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly locked in a transfer tussle after the Madrid club bid a huge €35m plus Luciano Vietto for Kevin Gameiro.

PIERRE GOING NOWHERE

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has cooled talks of a move to Real Madrid this summer... although does say that he would like to play at the Bernabeu later in his career .The only club to leave Borussia Dortmund for is Real Madrid. But not now."Sometime I want to play for Real Madrid, which is one of my big goals in my career. But at the moment everything is great."

VAN DER VAART BACK TO ENGLAND?

Reading have been linked with a sensational move for former Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael van der Vaart. The Dutch playmaker has been told he has no future at Real Betis and initial talks have taken place between the player and Reading's manager -- former Netherlands international Jaap Stam.Van der Vaart still has a year remaining on his Betis contract.

STOKE SIGN SOBHI

Stoke City have made teenage winger Ramadan Sohbi their first signing of the summer as the Egypt international was granted a work permit this week. The length of the contract has yet to be confirmed, but the 19-year-old is considered one of the most exciting talents in African football and the fee could rise to £5m with add-ons. He helped former club Al Ahly win a string of domestic honours, including the 2015/16 Egyptian League title under the guidance of former Premier League manager Martin Jol.

ALLEN COMPLETES STOKE MOVE

Stoke City have confirmed the signing of Wales midfielder Joe Allen from Liverpool. The Reds last week accepted Stoke's bid for their midfielder, whose performances helped Wales reach the semi-finals at Euro 2016 this summer. And the 26-year-old has signed a five-year contract for a fee understood to be £13m, ending a four-year spell at Anfield to become Stoke's second signing of the summer following Ramadan Sobhi's move on Monday.Allen followed Brendan Rodgers from Swansea to Liverpool in 2012 but found his first-team chances limited after Rodgers was replaced by Jurgen Klopp in October.Injuries contributed to a total of just eight Premier League starts last season, and Allen had just one year to run on his deal.

ADRIANO LEAVES BARCA

Barcelona defender Adriano has completed a permanent move to Besiktas. The full-back, 31, was included in Barca’s pre-season squad to travel to the UK but was deemed surplus to requirements by boss Luis Enrique.Adriano only started four La Liga games last season, making a further four appearances as a substitute.
