This year’s Joy Fm Easter Soup Kitchen that comes off on Sunday, the 8th of April, would be held nationwide.
Hundreds and thousands of needy and homeless people in the country will be given food, clothing, medical care and counseling during Joy Fm’s social event.
The event has received a ¢500 million boost from the Ghana @ 50 secretariat. It would be the 10th since its inception. The main event takes place at the Efua Sutherland Park in Accra.
The head of Joy Fm’s Events and Promotions Desk, Mr Cox Tamakloe, in an interview said all is set for the event.
“We are on top of issues. We are setting up the logistics. The caterers are in place and we are still collecting donations and we need more of that,” he said.
He said in all an estimated amount of one billion cedis is needed to organise the event. He said calls on individuals and corporate institutions to donate towards the event have been encouraging.
“We have an ambitious plan going nationwide so we still need some more,” he said.
Mr Tamakloe said the event goes to all the 10 regions of Ghana specifically Takoradi, Cape Coast, Sunyani, Wa, Bolgatanga, Kumasi, Koforidua, Accra, Ho and Tamale.
Meanwhile, individuals and institutions who would like to donate towards the programme could call the offices of Joy FM and its partner stations across the length and breadth of the country.
