The Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong has reaffirmed his company’s commitment to collaborating with the government to create jobs for Ghanaian youth and drive national development.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Jospong Leadership Conference (JLC) on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Pentecost Conference Centre in Gomoa, Central Region, Dr Agyepong pledged JGC’s support for the government’s vision of a 24-hour economy.
“Our trucks are already branded to reflect our readiness to support this initiative,” he revealed, emphasizing JGC’s role in realizing the government’s ambition. He also highlighted the group’s dedication to promoting green economy projects, stating, ‘It’s the foundation of Ghana’s economic transformation.”

Focus on Leadership and Innovation
This year’s Jospong Leadership Conference, which runs until January 17, is themed “Transformation through Leadership” and aims to inspire business sustainability, foster positive work ethics, and explore leadership’s role in driving impactful change.
Dr Agyepong, addressing staff at the event, called on them to embrace leadership with purpose. “Transformational leadership requires courage, resilience, and innovation. I challenge all of you to seize this opportunity to learn, reflect, and grow. Ask the tough questions, share bold ideas, and actively participate in shaping our future,” he remarked.
He stressed the importance of innovation and green initiatives as critical pillars for JGC’s growth. He also announced plans to expand the company’s operations globally, revealing that a new office in Kenya would open soon.

Ethical Leadership and Corporate Responsibility
A key highlight of the event was a presentation by renowned Marketing Professor, Professor Robert Ebo Hinson on the topic “Ethical Leadership and Corporate Responsibility."” He stressed the importance of ethical leadership in building trust, driving sustainability, and giving companies a competitive edge.
“Ethical leadership guides behaviour and helps navigate complex situations,” he noted while cautioning against the detrimental effects of favouritism in organizations.
Professor Hinson outlined key attributes of ethical leaders, including honesty, fairness, and proactive role modelling.
He also urged JGC to embed ethics into its strategic planning, prioritize transparency and accountability, and align its corporate purpose with ethical practices.
He encouraged JGC to integrate ethics into its corporate strategy, highlighting transparency, accountability, and socially responsible practices as key areas for focus. “Honesty, fairness, and proactive role modelling are non-negotiable attributes of ethical leaders,” he noted.

Empowering Young Entrepreneurs
A key highlight of the conference was the launch of the Joseph Siaw Agyepong Foundation, established to nurture young entrepreneurs. The foundation received an initial seed funding of 500,000 Cedis, which will provide mentorship and resources to equip the next generation of leaders.
Dr Agyepong expressed his passion for empowering the youth, saying, “Our future depends on the innovative minds of today. Through this foundation, we will invest in their potential and give them the tools to succeed.”

The Jospong Leadership Conference continues to solidify the group’s commitment to leadership excellence, sustainability, and national development. Dr Agyepong’s message resonated with the audience, inspiring them to embrace innovation and ethical practices as the company charts its path forward.
