Ghanaian duo Joseph Paintsil and Nathan Opoku had a good start to the Belgian Jupiler Pro League over the weekend.
The two players starred for their respective teams on the opening day of the league, continuing from where they left off in the 2022/23 season.
Paintsil provided two assists in KRC Genk's thumping win over Molenbeek on Saturday evening as his side triumphed 4-0 away from home.
With Genk also gearing up for their Champions League qualifier second leg against Servette, the Ghanaian was taken off in the 75th minute, going on to the Man of the Match award.
On the same evening, Opoku was crucial for Oud-Heverlee Leuven who held Sporting Charleroi to a draw in their first league game of the season.
Opoku scored late in the game after his side were awarded a penalty in the last 10 minutes of the encounter, making no mistake from the spot.
His goal salvaged a point for OH Leuven, who avoided defeat on the opening day of the Pro League.
