The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif has been presented with the "silver gloves national King of the Jungle title Belt" by team Awinongya at the conference room of the Ministry on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
The Minister in receiving the title commended the US-based young boxer Joseph Awinongya JNR for his accomplishments as far as boxing is concerned.
According to him, the Ministry of Youth and Sports will engage the boxing federation to get the opportunity for the young and upcoming boxers in order to promote boxing in the country.
He further congratulated Joseph Awinongya Jnr for raising high the flag of Ghana in the U. S A.
He revealed that a boxing league will soon be initiated and believed it would help to discover more talents to augment Ghana's boxing industry.
On his part, the father of the young boxer, Joseph Awinongya Snr. mentioned that he was excited to meet the Hon. Minister with his talented young boxer.
He called on the Ministry of Youth and Sports to intensify its Cooperation with Joseph Awinongya Foundation and the U.S.A boxing to support young Ghanaians through exchange programs, training opportunities and the participation of boxing clinics in the US.
He noted that his Foundation has supported children living with HIV and had also supported upcoming boxers in Ghana and would like to expand his support to other needy boxers.
