Jose Mourinho has paid his first visit to Manchester United’s training ground – more than a month before he officially starts his new job.
The Portuguese boss, 53, signed a three-year deal to take charge at Old Trafford last Friday, understood to be worth £15million-a-year.
Mourinho will meet the players for the first time on July 7 before they head out for their summer pre-season tour of China 12 days later.
But he was pictured holding a Manchester United-branded bag of goodies outside the club’s multi-million pound AON training complex on Bank Holiday Monday.
It is believed the former Chelsea manager was there to greet staff and survey his new surroundings.
Ryan Giggs will be offered a role within that but it is not known yet whether the United legend will leave.
Former defender Rio Ferdinand has also been identified by Mourinho to join his trusted inner circle which should be propped up by long-term lieutenant Rui Faria as his No 2.
