Promising Ghanaian youngster, Jordan Ayew is ruled out of the Champions Trophy match on Wednesday as Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain kick off the domestic season.
Both French sides will play this year's curtain-raising match in Rades, Tunisia.
However the Marseille youngster is suspended for the game as the league champions play French Cup winners PSG.
Despite Jordan's absence, senior brother, Andre Ayew is available for selection for tonight's game though Marseille coach Didier Deschamps has adopted a cautious approach over the use of his players ahead of the Ligue 1 season which begins on August 7.
Andre, who has returned to Marseille from loan featured in their pre-season game against Catania last Saturday.
"We'll give it our best considering we're missing key players and we'll do what's necessary to win the Champions Trophy," said Deschamps.
"I'm not going to take risks with certain players. The important thing is that the large majority of the squad are ready for the first league game of the season."
