Ghanaian duo, Jonathan Mensah and Felix Afena-Gyan will miss Ghana’s penultimate World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed.
Mensah is said to have picked up an injury while on duty for Columbus Crew, making him unavailable for the trip to South Africa to play the Walyas.
Afena-Gyan will also miss the game as AS Roma have failed to release him for the upcoming games, though his participation in the game against Bafana Bafana has not been ruled out.
Mensah and Afena-Gyan join Thomas Partey, who is also set to miss the game as a precautionary measure due to groin tightness.
Tuesday’s training at the Accra Sports Stadium saw a total of 21 players, six more than the squad who trained on Monday, November 8.
Ashdod FC left-back, Montari Kamaheni has been brought in the squad as a replacement for Gideon Mensah, who is out due to injury as well.
