Actor, John Dumelo is likely to appear before the vetting committee on Friday, April 7, the Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said.
He disclosed this in an interview on Joy FM’s Top Story on Thursday.
His comment follows the Vetting Committee putting on hold the vetting of parliamentary aspirants, John Dumelo and Fred Nuamah of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
He explained the reason behind the rescheduling and noted that “a petition was raised with the conflict resolution committee so the party directed that the issue needs to be looked at before we can continue the process.”
According to Mr Tetteh Chaie, the direction has been given for vetting to proceed while the other issues raised are being resolved.
He added that once the conflict resolution team resolves the issues, the other aspirants will be vetted.
“As a body, we are obliged to do that, we have to fix a date and then invite the candidate.”
Mr Tetteh Chaie stated that the committee proposed that John Dumelo be vetted and that he has completed the application process with no issues.
When asked whether he may be vetted on Friday, Mr Tetth Chaie replied in the affirmative saying “definitely.”
Meanwhile, JoyNews is learning that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region says it has started investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the challenges associated with the filing of nominations by parliamentary candidates from the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.
