Former United States President Jimmy Carter arrived in Accra Tuesday morning for a week's working visit during which he will visit projects being implemented by the ‘Carter Centre’ in various parts of Ghana, including a guinea worm eradication programme.
He is also billed to meet with President John Agyekum Kufuor and officials of the Ministry of Health.
At the airport to meet Mr Carter was the US Ambassador to Ghana, Ms Pamela Bridgewater.
Jimmy Carter served as the thirty-ninth president of the United States from January 20, 1977 to January 20, 1981.
