Ex-Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) Jack (Paul) Bebli has been reported dead.
Paul Bebli, prior to his demise at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra yesterday, was serving a 15-year jail term.
He was sentenced in July 2001, together with five others, for his involvement in the 1999 highway robbery of gold valued at 2.4 billion old Ghana cedis.
The authorities at the Prison Service have confirmed his death and said Mr Bebli died of heart attack. He was said to have complained of chest pains days before his sudden death.
